CHAM Ranks Among Nation’s Best for 16 Years in a Row

Children's Hospital badge

Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) one of the best in the nation for the 16th year in a row. CHAM also continues its leadership in New York City, maintaining its #3 ranking overall. CHAM upheld its long-standing top specialty rankings in New York City, with Nephrology ranking at #1, Gastroenterology & Gl Surgery ranking #2, and Diabetes & Endocrinology taking the #3 spot.

Our nationally ranked specialties have a long history of excellence.

Diabetes & Endocrinology

CHAM is one of only three American Diabetes Association-approved facilities in New York City. The multidisciplinary Diabetes Care Team provides in-depth evaluation and counseling for patients with diabetes mellitus and education in all aspects of diabetes care, including skills assessment and teaching, insulin pump training and continuous subcutaneous glucose monitoring.

Gastroenterology & GI Surgery

CHAM is one of the select few pediatric programs in the region to offer endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in the evaluation and treatment of pancreatic and biliary disorders, including the first ERCP performed in an infant in the region.

Nephrology

The Ira Greifer Children’s Kidney Center at CHAM is one of the nation’s largest, most experienced and innovative facilities dedicated to caring for children with kidney conditions. The first to treat children with kidney failure and perform the first pediatric kidney transplant in New York State, the CHAM Children’s Kidney Center now has one of the largest hemodialysis and transplant programs in the region and country.

“I am proud of my colleagues—who compassionately provide the most advanced and specialized care to children with a wide range of health challenges—for their regional and national leadership in their fields. CHAM has ranked as one of the nation’s best since the inception of the U.S. News rankings 16 years ago.”
