best-childrens-hospitals-diabetesOur mission at the Children’s Hospital of Montefiore is to improve the overall health and well-being of children with diabetes and endocrine disorders. As one of only three American Diabetes Association approved facilities in New York City, our Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes is equipped with the staff and tools to diagnose and treat Type 1 and Type 2 pediatric diabetes mellitus.

Every diagnosis begins with state-of-the-art clinical research, but the treatment only works because our nationally-recognized consultation services include each patient as a partner in their own care.

By setting goals, establishing a support system and evaluating outcomes, CHAM's patients, parents and caregivers work as a team to ensure a child's condition is kept under control and they are enjoying the best possible quality of life.

Education & Training

CHAM Endocrinology Division

The Endocrinology and Diabetes fellowship program at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) is a full-time, three-year program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Our faculty, in partnership with the University Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, provides training through hands-on clinical experience, formal educational activities, and structured research opportunities. We consistently turn out intelligent, hardworking and well-rounded pediatric endocrine fellows trained for leadership in the field. Previous graduates have gone on to win grants and teaching awards, as well as secure various academic and clinical positions.
