The Division of Allergy & Immunology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) is one of the nation’s most comprehensive programs dedicated to treating children and adults suffering from a broad range of allergic and immunologic conditions, such as food and drug allergies; skin allergies; rashes; hives, autoimmune disorders as well as HIV.

We have a longstanding tradition of treating both children and adults suffering from a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions. As one of the nation’s largest immunology centers, we have the rare privilege to treat immunodeficiencies and autoimmune diseases.

Meet the Team

SERVICES & PROGRAMS

The Division of Allergy & Immunology at CHAM treats pediatric patients across the entire lifespan—from birth through adulthood—in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Services provided include a range of diagnostics and treatments, for pediatric and adult allergenic and immunologic diseases that include:  

  • Primary immunodeficiency, acquired immunodeficiency and immune dysregulation
  • Asthma
  • Seasonal/environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis; allergic conjunctivitis- nasal and ocular allergies)
  • Urticaria (hives)
  • Angioedema- hereditary and allergic swelling
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Food allergies
  • Insect sting allergies
  • Atopic dermatitis/eczema
  • Hypersensitivity diseases
  • Chronic Sinus infections and nasal polyps
  • Contact dermatitiss

Our programs are uniquely designed to complement the care that you or your child receives from physicians with the Division of Allergy & Immunology. We apply a multidisciplinary approach to care by partnering with programs and centers, such as our:

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Since its founding in 1978, the Division of Allergy & Immunology fellowship program has been continuously certified by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. More than 100 fellows have graduated from our program and had in the past 27 years a 100% passing rate in National Board Exams.

Graduates of the program serve in academic positions and in clinical activities associated with major medical centers throughout the country. Several faculty members in the Division are former graduates of the training program or of the National Institutes of Health.

The Division of Allergy and Immunology at CHAM seeks to understand the mechanisms and therapies for congenital and acquired immunodeficiencies including AIDS, as well as associated autoimmune disorders and infectious diseases. Among the disorders and diseases our researchers are studying are congenital immunodeficiences in both pediatric and adult patients, HIV, hereditary and acquired angioedema, long-term immune complications of infections such as Mycoplasma and Lyme disease.
