The Airway Team

Children with complex pediatric airway disorders have access to a unique, multidisciplinary program at CHAM that is the only one of its kind in the Northeast United States. The Airway Team is a unique collaboration between nationally renowned physicians and experts, including a pediatric pulmonologist, a pediatric ENT specialist and a cardiothoracic surgeon. Our team offers specialized expertise in the treatment of children, from newborns to age 21, with conditions including tracheal obstructions or masses, feeding disorders, sleep abnormalities, including apneas, and "blue spells." Together, we provide a multidisciplinary evaluation and then hold a conference, which may involve additional pediatric airway specialists, including anesthesiologists, pediatric critical care specialists, pediatric radiologists and members of our highly skilled nursing staff, to decide the best surgical and medical treatment options.
