    Clinical Focus
    • Dr. Reznik focuses on general pediatric health care, with a particular emphasis on treating and effectively managing asthma, as well as practice-based asthma education.
    Research Focus
    • Dr. Reznik focuses on the development and evaluation of community- and school-based interventions to improve the health care services and outcomes for medically underserved minority children with chronic diseases such as asthma and obesity. She is currently the principal investigator on an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial to evaluate a school-based intervention to address barriers to physical activity in students with asthma.

      Dr. Reznik is also the principal investigator (in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene) on a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the feasibility, health outcomes and return-on-investment of an integrated pest management intervention for Bronx children aged 5 to 12 with persistent asthma, who are living in homes with pests. 

    • Her previous research involved testing the effectiveness of a Community Health Worker-delivered home-based intervention on reducing asthma morbidity in children with persistent asthma. She was a co-investigator on an NIH-funded study to test effectiveness of the classroom-based physical activity intervention (CHAM JAM) on increasing physical activity and fitness of over 8,000 Bronx elementary school students attending 15 Bronx schools.

    Personal Biography

    Marina Reznik, MD, MS, is an Attending Physician at Children's Hospital at Montefiore and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Reznik joined Montefiore in 2000. She focuses on general pediatrics, including asthma, obesity prevention, as well as healthcare disparities.

    Dr. Reznik received both her medical and Master of Science degrees from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She went on to complete a medical internship and residency in social pediatrics at Children's Hospital at Montefiore. She also completed a fellowship in clinical research with the New York State Department of Health Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program. She now teaches and mentors medical students, residents and postdoctoral students.

    Dr. Reznik is an experienced author, having published over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and editorials. Her research, which focuses on improving care and clinical outcomes for ethnically-diverse populations with asthma, has been presented both nationally and internationally.

    Dr. Reznik is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
