Leigh Pughe, RN, MS, CPNP
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM), Moses Campus, Montefiore Medical Center
Working in the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes division at CHAM, Ms. Pughe sees both endocrine and diabetes patients. She is an active member of the Pediatric Endocrine Nursing Society and is involved in the training of school nurses in diabetes management. Endocrine fellows work with Ms. Pughe to learn about diabetes technology including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, and sit in on training sessions together with patients.
Ms. Pughe has worked in the field of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes for over 7 years. Prior to joining Montefiore Health System in 2015, she was a pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric endocrinology at Children’s and Women’s Physicians of Westchester.
Ms. Pughe is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In 2008, Ms. Pughe earned her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University. She later attended Columbia University, earning her Bachelor of Science in registered nursing in 2011 followed by her Master of Science from the institution’s School of Nursing in 2013.
In addition to her ongoing work, Ms. Pughe is also actively involved in organizing CHAM’s annual Diabetes Day at the Bronx Zoo and assists in operating the hospital’s annual Halloween Candy Exchange, where children can bring in their trick-or-treating candy to trade in for a toy.
