Personal Biography
Laura Tocci, AuD, CCC-A is Director of Audiology at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Otorhinolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on diagnostic audiology and newborn hearing screening as well as the education of audiology residents. Dr. Tocci also has interests in clinical efficiency, intergenerational growth, team development and bioethics.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts in speech and hearing science at Rutgers University in 1984, Dr. Tocci attended City University of New York, earning her Master of Science in audiology in 1989. She later attended the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning her Doctor of Audiology in 2004.
Dr. Tocci’s research investigates the prevalence of hearing impairment and associated risk factors in the Hispanic community as well as productivity in diagnostic audiology. Her work has been published in JAMA Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery and shared through poster presentation.
Dr. Tocci is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
