Personal Biography
Gerard J. Igel, MD, is Medical Director, Pediatrics, Riverdale and Assistant Clinical Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is pediatric primary care with a special focus on chronic illness, behavioral disorders and developmental disorders.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977, Dr. Igel earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University in 1981. He then completed a pediatric internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center in 1984.
Dr. Igel was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society in recognition of Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students in 2014.
