Personal Biography
Denis Traore, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Instructor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Traore’s clinical focus is on pediatric medicine, with a particular interest in newborn medicine. He also focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, quality and performance improvement and resident and medical student education.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California, Davis, in 2010, Dr. Traore earned his Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten in 2016. He then completed his pediatrics internship and residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2020.
Dr. Traore’s research aligns with his clinical expertise. He has participated in several research and quality improvement projects, and his work has been shared through abstracts, book chapters and presentations.
Dr. Traore is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association. In 2023, he received the Teaching Star Commendation from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Health Equity Advocate Award from Greater New York Reach Out and Read.
