Personal Biography
Neha B. Patel, MD, is an attending physician, Pediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Patel’s clinical focus is in the treatment of respiratory and sleep disorders, with a specific interest in technology-dependent children, bronchoscopies, sleep disordered breathing, narcolepsy and behavioral sleep medicine.
Shortly after completing her Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology at Rutgers in 2009, Dr. Patel attended the American University of Antigua School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She began her postdoctoral training at Oishei Children’s Hospital, completing her pediatric residency in 2018. She then pursued a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, completing it in 2021. In 2022, she finished her sleep medicine fellowship at Children’s National Hospital affiliated with George Washington University.
Dr. Patel’s research interests include sleep disordered breathing in patients with Prader Willi Syndrome, cellular changes with obstructive sleep apnea, and the effect of the CPAP and statins on the cellular changes with obstructive sleep apnea. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journal articles, oral presentations and poster presentations.
Dr. Patel is board certified, and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Thoracic Society.
