Rubina Heptulla, MD, Chief, Division of Endocrinology, was invited to speak at the Fatih University First International World Diabetes Day Symposium in Istanbul, Turkey. Speakers invited from around the world to discuss diabetes, which has become one of the major causes of premature illness and death in most countries, mainly because a person diagnosed with diabetes faces an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

In his opening remarks for the ceremony, the dean of Fatih University's Faculty of Medicine said the symposium is the first and largest of its kind in Turkey, which demonstrates the human-centered and health-oriented policies of Fatih University.
