ELAM Program to Include Suzette Oyeku, MD

 The prestigious Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM) Program at Drexel University College of Medicine 2016-2017 class of Fellows will include our own , MPH, FAAP.

Suzette Oyeku, MD, MPHDr. Oyeku— Associate Division Chief for Academic Affairs within the division of academic general pediatrics at CHAM—was selected to take part in the nation’s only program dedicated to preparing women for senior leadership roles in academic health science institutions.

Dr. Oyeku will take the leadership lessons gained from the classroom to practice, as means of #DoingMore for our patients.

During this intensive one year, part-time program, Dr. Oyeku will enhance her skills in strategic finance, and organizational change and undertake an Institutional Action Project with support and in collaboration with senior leadership at Montefiore-Einstein including: Judy Aschner, MD, CHAM Physician-in-Chief, who will serve as Dr. Oyeku’s mentor for the program.

Dr. Aschner is an alumnus of the program in addition to notable women physician leaders at Montefiore-Einstein, including Drs. Julia Arnsten, Chinazo Cunningham, Martha S. Grayson, Nadine Katz, Sharmila Makhija, and Ellie Schoenbaum.
