Celebrating the Spirit of Collaboration at CHAM

Judy Aschner, MD

Collaboration is a cornerstone at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM), not only in how we approach the care of our patients, but also in the research, education and training that take place here every day. At this year’s Pediatric Academic Societies conference, we are kicking off a yearlong celebration of CHAM collaboration.

The collaborations within and across teams bring together expertise and experience through our dedicated nursing staff, specialty physicians, surgeons, primary care pediatricians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social workers, nutritionists, child life workers and families to achieve the best outcomes and highest quality of care possible.

As the pediatric hospital for our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, translational research conducted in partnership between basic scientists and physician faculty is one of many research collaboration approaches. As a top 25 National Institutes of Health-funded children’s hospital, our research collaboration extends to partner institutions and programs across the country. Through our comprehensive pediatric residency, social pediatric residency and fellowship programs, we are able to connect education and training with clinical care and research collaborations to mentor the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Please visit our blog regularly throughout the year to read about the ongoing collaborations that are an integral part of CHAM’s dedication to care, research and education.
